‘’TONI FISHER’S WEIRD ONE’’

miss-toni-fisher-the-big-hurt-1959

The Big Hurt" (1959) is notable for it’s phasing effects, the first record
to feature the technique which made the song sound like a distant
shortwave broadcast. It was recorded at the Gold Star Studios in
Los Angeles. WKBW DJ Dick Biondi would introduce the single
as..”here’s Toni Fisher’s weird one”. The song went to No. 3 on
the Billboard Hot 100.
