RADIO DJ IN ENGLAND DIES WHILE ON AIR

Tributes have poured in for Tim

A radio DJ tragically died live on air this morning, (Monday, October
24). Tim Gough, who presented a breakfast show on GenX Radio
Suffolk, England passed away an hour into his broadcast today.

The music stopped partway through a song during the 55-year-old’s show. It resumed a few minutes later but Tim did not return.

GenX Radio Suffolk confirmed Tim had died. A spokesperson said
on Twitter: "It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to inform you,
our dear friend and breakfast host Tim Gough passed away this
morning whilst presenting his program.

Orvon Grover "Gene" Autry

Gene Autry, the cowboy crooner and Hollywood hitmaker who
helped popularize
country-western music and became one of
the most celebrated performers in American history, was born
in Tioga, Texas, on this day in history, Sept. 29, 1907.

"In addition, his success as a singing cowboy launched an entire
genre of movies and paved the way for successful rivals such as
Roy Rogers and Tex Ritter."

LOCAL RADIO PERSONALITY IS IN HOSPICE

EUGENE, Ore. — Longtime KKNU (NEW COUNTRY 93.3), radio personality Bill Barrett has entered hospice care after a long
battle with cancer.

New Country’s Tim Fox tells us Barrett was diagnosed with a
recurrence of cancer back in April of this year.

Barrett had hosted the morning show on 93.3 for decades with
Fox and Tracy Berry (below) before he retired last year.


UPDATE: Barrett passed away Wednesday afternoon
                 August 17th.

BASEBALL SPORTSCASTER HAS DIED AT 94

Vincent Edward Scully (November 29, 1927 – August 2, 2022)

Vin Scully was a sportscaster, best known for his 67
seasons calling games for
Major League Baseball‘s
Los Angeles Dodgers, beginning in 1950 (when the
franchise was located in
Brooklyn) and ending in 2016.


In addition to Dodgers baseball, Scully called various
nationally-televised football and golf contests for
CBS
Sports
from 1975 to 1982, and was NBC Sports lead
baseball play-by-play announcer from 1983 to 1989. He
also called the
World Series for CBS Radio from 1979
to 1982 and again from 1990 to 1997.
Scully died at his
home in
Hidden Hills, California
