Original run on NBC: April 18, 1979 – July 4, 1984.

In its early seasons, Real People was NBC’s most popular series, often
scoring at the top of the ratings. It was a hit for the network at a time
when NBC was a distant third in the ratings with numerous flops.

Real People, a combination of comedy, reality and talk with regular
hosts that included Sarah Purcell, Byron Allen, John Barbour, Skip
Stephenson, Bill Rafferty, Mark Russell, Peter Billingsley and Fred
Willard.

Henry Enrique "Erik" Estrada is best known for his co-starring lead role in
the NBC television series CHiPs (1977-1983). Following the series, he
worked in real life as a deputy sheriff in Virginia. In more recent years,  
Estrada has made appearances in reality TV shows, commercials, and
infomercials.

REALITY SHOW STAR HAS DEAD AT 49

(Variety) – Roy Garber, star of A&E reality series “Shipping Wars,” died Friday 
from a massive heart attack.

Garber owned and operated Arbie’s Team Transport out of New Hampshire,
along with his son Travis, and was one of the show’s top earners.

“Shipping Wars” just wrapped its fifth season on Wednesday.

A&E’s website describes Garber as a “jack of-all-trades” as well as an avid
fisherman and master scuba diver.

“Shipping Wars,”  which debuted to 3 million viewers in Jan. 2012, is produced
for A&E by Megalomedia. 

The network could not be reached for comment.
