On August 30th 1964, the Beatles’ "Matchbox" and the flip-side, "Slow Down",
both entered Billboard’s Hot Top 100 chart, "Matchbox" at position #81 and
"Slow Down" at #99. "Matchbox" would peak at #17for one week on October
11th, 1964, while "Slow Down" reached its highest position at #25 for one

There are suggestions that Carl Perkins, the writer of the song “Matchbox”,
may have been present in the studio during the recording  session.

"Honky Tonk Women" is distinctive as it opens not with a guitar riff, but
with a beat played on a cowbell. The Rolling Stones’ producer Jimmy
Miller
performed the cowbell for the recording.
