CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Seven-time NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson is retiring from full-time racing and will
turn his focus toward spending time with family.

He figures his future schedule will include no more than
10 bucket-list events, but the 47-year-old had no idea
Monday what that schedule will look like. He turned
47 September 17th.

George Herman "Babe" Ruth Jr.
(February 6, 1895 – August 16, 1948)

On June 2, 1935, Babe Ruth, one of the greatest players in the
history of baseball, ended his Major League playing career after
22 seasons, 10 World Series and 714 home runs.

The following year, Ruth, a larger-than-life figure whose name
became synonymous with baseball, was one of the first five
players inducted into the sport’s hall of fame.

(FOXNEWS) – The legendary Marv Albert called the final game of his
55-year career on Saturday night.

Albert, who served as the play-by-play broadcaster for TNT,
announced in May that he had plans to retire once the Eastern Conference Finals were over. On Saturday night, the
Bucks
defeated the
Hawks in Game 6 to wrap up the series and set
up a Milwaukee-Phoenix
NBA Finals, which will begin on
Tuesday.

GIANT LANDMINE–SNIFFING RAT RETIRES

(AP) – After five years of sniffing out land mines and unexploded ordnance in Cambodia, Magawa (above) is retiring.

The African giant pouched rat has been the most successful rodent
trained and overseen by a Belgian nonprofit, APOPO, to find land
mines and alert his human handlers so the explosives can be
can be safely removed.
