James (Jimmie) Frederick Rodgers

LM DESERT, Calif. (AP) — Jimmie Rodgers, singer of the 1957
hits “Honeycomb” and “Kisses Sweeter Than Wine” whose
career in music and movies was disrupted by a severe head
injury a decade later, has died. His publicist Alan Eichler said
Rogers, who was born in Camas, Washington, died from kidney
disease on January 18 in Palm Desert, California. He had also
tested positive for COVID-19.
Dolly Rebecca Parton
Dolly Parton is a country singer, songwriter, actress and
businesswoman known for a collection of country hits
including Jolene, Coat of Many Colors, I Will Always Love
You and 9 to 5. She is widely referred to as the greatest
female country performer of all time. As an actress, she
has starred in films such as Rhinestone, 9 to 5 and Blue
Valley Songbird.
Throughout her career, she has won several awards,
including a Lifetime Achievement Grammy Award. She
has been an inductee to several Halls of Fame including
Country Music Hall of Fame, Songwriters Hall of Fame
and Grammy Hall of Fame. In 1984, she was given a star
on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Gerard Marsden (September 24, 1942 – January 3, 2021)
LONDON (AP) — Gerry Marsden, lead singer of the 1960s British
group Gerry and the Pacemakers that had such hits as “Ferry
Cross the Mersey” and the song that became the anthem of
Liverpool Football Club, “You’ll Never Walk Alone,” has died.
His family said that Marsden died Sunday “after a short illness
in no way connected with COVID-19”.
Phyllis Jean McGuire was born on February 14, 1931 in Middletown, Ohio.
Phyllis McGuire, the last surviving member of the 1950s singing
group The McGuire Sisters, has died at age 89. A cause of death
was not provided. The singer, who led the trio, died in Las Vegas
on Tuesday, December 29th.
