heart of
midtown Manhattan amid great fanfare on this day in
history, Dec. 27, 1932.

Since its opening, more than 300 million people have gone to
Radio City to enjoy movies, stage shows, concerts and special
events.

New York, NY: This striking photo of the interior of the Radio City Music Hall in Rockefeller Center is the newest picture to be taken of the world's largest theater. Presenting an unusual photographic problem, it was made during an actual stage presentation under normal house lighting conditions while an audience of 6,200 persons was watching the finale of one of the great spectacles that have become associated with the name of the place.

LAST CHRISTMAS SHOW ON THIS DATE ~ 1972

Bob Hope Does His Final Christmas Show In Vietnam-This Day 1972 | slicethelife

Comedian Bob Hope gave what he says is his last Christmas show
to U.S. servicemen in Saigon. Hope was a star of stage, radio, TV
and over 50 feature films.

Hope was one of many Hollywood stars who followed the tradition
of traveling overseas to entertain American troops stationed abroad.

The 1972 show marked Hope’s ninth consecutive Christmas Vietnam appearance. Although some antiwar protesters criticized Hope for supporting government policies in Vietnam, the comedian said he believed it was his responsibility to lift spirits by entertaining the
troops.
