June Lockhart (June 25, 1925 – October 23, 2025)

June Lockhart, a popular actress from the 1950s and ’60s,
has died.  Best known for her roles in "Lost in Space"
(1965 – 1969) and "Lassie" where she appeared from
1958 to 1964.

She was a two-time Emmy Award nominee and a Tony
Award
winner. With a career spanning nearly 90 years,
Lockhart was one of the last surviving actors from the
Golden Age of Hollywood.

Linda Lavin Dead: 'Alice' Star, Tony-Winning Broadway Actor Was 87

NEW YORK (AP — Linda Lavin, a Tony Award-winning stage
actress who became a working class icon as a paper-hat
wearing waitress on the CBS – TV sitcom "Alice," has died.

Her representative, Bill Veloric, said Lavin died in Los
Angeles on Sunday of complications from recently
discovered lung cancer.

history, Dec. 27, 1932.

Since its opening, more than 300 million people have gone to
Radio City to enjoy movies, stage shows, concerts and special
events.

New York, NY: This striking photo of the interior of the Radio City Music Hall in Rockefeller Center is the newest picture to be taken of the world's largest theater. Presenting an unusual photographic problem, it was made during an actual stage presentation under normal house lighting conditions while an audience of 6,200 persons was watching the finale of one of the great spectacles that have become associated with the name of the place.

NEW YORK (AP) — A musical about Neil Diamond has found
the polished theater gem who will play the icon onstage, Will
Swenson.

Swenson has been tapped to lead "A Beautiful Noise, The Neil
Diamond Musical
" this summer when it makes its debut at Boston’s
Emerson Colonial Theatre. Swenson calls it a not straightforward musical.

Swenson’s Broadway credits include "Waitress" opposite Sara
Bareilles, creating the role of Javert in the 2014 revival of "Les Misérables," and starring in "Priscilla: Queen of the Desert"
and  "110 in the Shade."

Diamond, 81, is the singer and songwriter of massive hits like
"
Sweet Caroline," "Song Sung Blue" and "Cracklin’ Rosie."
He’s also written hits recorded by other artists, such as "I’m a
Believer" by the Monkees, "Red Red Wine" by UB40 and "You
Don’t Bring Me Flowers" by Barbra Streisand.

THEATRE RENAMED AFTER FAMED ACTOR

NEW YORK (AP) — The Shubert Organization’s Cort Theatre on Broadway will be renamed after James Earl Jones, fulfilling a
promise by the theater giant to honor a Black artist in such
a way.

According to a statement by the Shuberts,The James Earl Jones
Theatre renaming is "in recognition of Mr. Jones’ lifetime of
immense contributions to Broadway and the entire artistic
community,"

The Cort Theatre is 110 years old and was built by and named for
John Cort, general manager of the Northwestern Theatrical
Association, who died in 1929. There are 41 Broadway theaters,
four are named for women and now two for Black artists.

Jones, who served in the United States Army during the Korean
War
before pursuing a career in acting, turned 91 in January.
