BARBARA EDEN IS 85 TODAY


Barbara Eden ( born Barbara Jean Morehead in Tucson,
Arizona

Eden starred as Jeanie on the NBC sitcom I Dream of Jeannie from
1965 to 1970. Her film credits include Voyage to the Bottom of the
Sea
(1961), 7 Faces of Dr. Lao (1964) and The Wonderful World
of the Brothers Grimm
(1972). She began singing with local bands
at age 14 for $10 a night in local night clubs and studied singing at
the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Barbara Eden trained as
an actress with the Elizabeth Holloway School of Theatre. She made
her big screen debut as an unaccredited extra in the 1956 film Back
from Eternity
and was first seen on TV in a 1956 episode of the series
West Point.

Cynthia Jane "Cindy" Williams was born in Van
Nuys, Los Angeles,California.

Cindy Williams starred as Shirley Feeney on the ABC-TV
series Laverne and Shirley from 1976 to 1983. She also
portrayed Laurie Henderson in the hit 1973 coming of age
film American Graffiti. She debuted as an actress through
a variety of commercials for Foster Grant sunglasses and 
and made her big screen debut in the 1970 Roger Corman
movie Gas-s-s-s. Williams co-produced the 1990s Steve
Martin
comedies Father of the Bride and Father of the
Bride Part II.

Kenneth Ray "Kenny" Rogers is 78 today.

Kenny Rogers attended Jefferson Davis High School in Houston
and joined his first band, The Scholars, in the mid-1950s, but the
band dissolved after their front man left to go solo. He starred as
race car driver Brewster Baker in the 1982 comedy/drama film
Six Pack. Rogers was inducted into the Country Music Hall of
Fame in 2013.
