Buddy Holly’s version of the Mickey Baker and Sylvia Vanderpool hit
song was recorded in January 1959, days before his death.

Bruce Alexander Morton (October 28, 1930 – September 4, 2014)

Morton, the D.C.-based correspondent who spent nearly three decades
with CBS and another 13 years with CNN, died Thursday at his home in
Washington. He was the recipient of six News and Documentary Emmy
Awards as well as a Peabody Award.

Joan Alexandra Molinsky (previously Rosenberg)

(June 8, 1933 – September 4, 2014)

The legendary comedian died following serious complications—including
cardiac arrest—during a procedure on her vocal cords at a clinic on the
Upper East Side of Manhattan.

William Gargan, Lloyd Nolan, Lee Tracy, and Mark Stevens played the title role in 
Martin Kane, Private Eye on live television, airing on the NBC Television Network
from 1 September 1949 until 17 June 1954. The TV series, as with radio, was also
