REALITY SHOW STAR HAS DEAD AT 49

(Variety) – Roy Garber, star of A&E reality series “Shipping Wars,” died Friday 
from a massive heart attack.

Garber owned and operated Arbie’s Team Transport out of New Hampshire,
along with his son Travis, and was one of the show’s top earners.

“Shipping Wars” just wrapped its fifth season on Wednesday.

A&E’s website describes Garber as a “jack of-all-trades” as well as an avid
fisherman and master scuba diver.

“Shipping Wars,”  which debuted to 3 million viewers in Jan. 2012, is produced
for A&E by Megalomedia. 

The network could not be reached for comment.

TELEVISION ACTOR HAS DIED AT 89

     Russell David Johnson
(November 10, 1924 – January 16, 2014)

Actor Russell Johnson, who played The Professor on the CBS television
sitcom series "Gilligan’s Island," has died. Johnson’s agent that the actor
passed away at his home in Washington State Thursday morning from
kidney failure, with his wife and daughter by his side. He was the last
surviving male cast member of the show that ran from 1964 to 1967.

  Lloyd Vernet Bridges, Jr. (January 15, 1913 – March 10, 1998)

Lloyd Bridges starred in a number of television series and appeared
in more than 150 feature films. He gained wide recognition as Mike
Nelson, the main character in the television series Sea Hunt which
ran in syndication from 1958–1961. Lloyd was the father of actors
Beau Bridges and Jeff Bridges

House Party
premiered on CBS Radio and ran weekdays at 4 p.m., three days a
week, for 30-minutes through January 10, 1947. Following a break, it then ran
weekdays at 3:30 p.m. from December 1, 1947 to December 31, 1948. The long
running radio shows final broadcast was October 13, 1967. Other sponsors were
Pillsbury and Lever Brothers. The show was also on CBS television, debuting on 
September 1, 1952.
