Season six consists of 28 episodes (Sep.13, 1987 – May 1, 1988)
The sitcom Family Ties aired on NBC from September 22, 1982 until
May 14, 1989 for a total of seven seasons. It won multiple awards,
including three consecutive Emmy Awards for Michael J. Fox as
Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series.
KING OF THE STROLL DIED ON THIS DAY IN 1958
Harold "Chuck" Willis (January 31, 1928 – April 10, 1958)
Chuck Willis was a rhythm and blues and rock and roll singer/songwriter
whose biggest hits, “C.C. Rider (1957) and “What Am I Living For” (1958),
both rose to the Number-One position on the Billboard R&B chart. He was
known as The King of the Stroll for his performance of the 1950s dance.
Willis died during surgery in Chicago of peritonitis while at the peak of his
career. Dick Clark devoted an hour of his American Bandstand show in
memory of Willis who died earlier that day.
