James King Arness (May 26, 1923 – June 3, 2011)

Arness portrayed the role of Marshall Dillon on TV’s Gunsmoke for twenty years
(1955 to 1975). According to legend, his friend John Wayne declined the role 
and recommended Arness. He spent time as a courier for a jewelry wholesaler
while attending high school.

Anne Meara (September 20, 1929 – May 23, 2015)

LOS ANGELES (AP) –  Actress and comedian Anne Meara, whose comic
work with husband Jerry Stiller helped launch a 60-year career in film and
TV, has died.

Jerry Stiller and son Ben Stiller say Meara died Saturday. No other details
were provided.

Priscilla Ann Presley (Wagner) was born in Brooklyn, New York

Priscilla was the wife of singer Elvis Presley from 1967 to 1973 and
played the role of Jenna Wade on the CBS television series Dallas
(1978-1991). In 1988 she starred opposite Leslie Nielsen in The
Naked Gun film series.

Bob Dylan (Robert Allen Zimmerman) is 74 years old today

Dylan was born a Jew, but converted to Christianity. While studying at the
University of Minnesota, he became more enthused with folk music than
rock and roll. His last name is derived from the Welsh modernist poet Dylan
Thomas. One of Bob Dylan’s sons, Jakob, has became a rock singer and
guitar player.
