‘’KING OF THE ONE-LINER’’ BORN ON THIS DAY IN 1906
Henry "Henny" Youngman (March 16, 1906 – February 24, 1998)
The British-born comedian was famous for his short, simple jokes that
were usually delivered rapid-fire with occasional musical interludes played
on his violin. A typical performance by Youngman lasted only about twenty
minutes, but contained dozens of jokes.

Edward Peter "Ed" McMahon, Jr. (March 6, 1923 – June 23, 2009)
McMahon was a comedian, game show host and announcer. He is best
remembered as the announcer and sidekick on the The Tonight Show
with Johnny Carson on NBC from 1962 to 1992. He also was the host of
the original version of Star Search on CBS from 1983 to 1995. McMahon
also co-hosted TV’s Bloopers & Practical Jokes with Dick Clark from 1982
to 1998 on NBC and ABC.
DINAH SHORE ( FEB. 29, 1916-FEB. 24, 1994)
Dinah Shore was a popular recording artist during the Big Band era of the 1940s
and 1950s. She was the first singer to achieve huge solo success. She achieved
even greater success a decade later, in television, mainly as hostess of a series
of variety programs for Chevrolet. TV Guide magazine ranked her at #16 on their
list of the top fifty television stars of all time.
