as a child. Red Steagall discovered her during her performance of the
National Anthem at the National Rodeo in Oklahoma City when she was
a sophomore in college. She has sometimes been referred to as "The
Queen of Country” and is one of the best-selling artists of all time,
having sold more than 85 million records worldwide.
