ROCK GUITARIST IS 79 YEARS OLD TODAY
English rock / blues guitarist, singer, and songwriter Eric
Patrick Clapton is regarded as one of the most successful
and influential guitarists in rock music. He ranked second
in Rolling Stone‘s list of the "100 Greatest Guitarists of All
Time and fourth in Gibson‘s "Top 50 Guitarists of All Time."
In 2023, Rolling Stone named Clapton the 35th best guitarist
of all time. He was also named number five in Time magazine’s
list of "The 10 Best Electric Guitar Players" in 2009.

ACTING LEGEND HAS PASSED AT AGE 87
Louis Cameron Gossett Jr. (May 27, 1936 – March 29, 2024)
Gossett appeared in the popular 1977 miniseries Roots and
won Outstanding Lead Actor for a Single Appearance in a
Drama or Comedy Series at the Emmy Awards.
Gossett died at a rehabilitation center in Santa Monica,
California, on March 29. No cause of death has been given.
In late December 2020, Gossett was hospitalized in Georgia
with COVID-19.
