JACK KLUGMAN ~ 89 YEARS OLD TODAY

 
Jack Klugman main

Jack Klugman, stage, film,and TV actor is known for his role as Oscar
Madison in the ABC-TV series The Odd Couple (1970-1975). He also
played the starring role in Quincy, M.E. on NBC (1976-1983).  One of his
early film appearances was in 12 Angry Men in 1957. He is the last surviving
actor who played a juror (#5) in that movie. Klugman also appeared in four
episodes of the acclaimed television series The Twilight Zone. Jack won two
Emmy Awards for The Odd Couple.

THE EDDY ARNOLD SHOW ~ ON THIS DATE IN 1956

The Eddy Arnold Show had its longest run on ABC-TV from April 26 to September
26, 1956 as a half-hour series. The live program aired from 8–8:30 p.m. ET on Thursdays as a summer replacement for Life is Worth Living, then on June 20
moved to 9:30–10 p.m. on Wednesdays. This show featured a regular cast of
guitarist Chet Atkins, Garland, Wiggins and the instrumental Paul Mitchell (piano)
Quartet. The program originated from the Jewell Theatre in Springfield, Missouri
before an audience of about 500.

Singer Bobby Rydell was considered a so-called "teen idol” during the early
1960s. He is best know for his 1960 recording of “Wild One.” Today, Bobby
is one of the most sought-after nightclub and concert acts in the country.

Skidmore_Fountain today

The Skidmore Fountain as it appears today near the west end of the Burnside Bridge
at SW First and Ankeny in downtown Portland. It was dedicated September 22, 1888 
in memory of Stephen G. Skidmore, a successful and highly regarded Portland 
businessman.
