At the age of 20, Nancy Kwan received the starring role of a beautiful and free-
spirited Hong Kong prostitute who captivates artist Robert Lomax, played by
William Holden in the 1960 film The World of Suzie Wong. The next year Nancy
was in the Broadway musical film Flower Drum Song and soon became one of
Hollywood’s most visible Eurasian actresses.

Good Lord my heart ached for her in 1966 when I was 8 and “Lt. Robin Crusoe, U.S.N.” was released. Even though she was 19 years my senior I nevertheless imagined holding her in my arms and kissing her. I vowed my love for her would never die and when I got old enough I would find her and win her heart. Well, I don’t imagine any of that will happen but she is no less beautiful or attractive to me.
so cool that she got to train with Bruce Lee!
