Actor James King Arness is best known for portraying Marshal Matt Dillon on
Gunsmoke (CBS-TV, 1955-1975). His brother was actor Peter Graves. Prior
to Gunsmoke, Arness appeared in two Science fiction films, The Thing from
Another World (1951), in which he portrayed the title character, and Them
(1954). Arness was a close friend of John Wayne and co-starred with him
in Big Jim McLain (1952), Hondo (1953), Island in the Sky (1953), and
The Sea Chase (1955).

Randall Hank Williams, better known as Hank Williams, JR. and Bocephus, is a  
country singer-songwriter and musician. His musical style is often considered
a blend of Southern Rock, blues , and traditional country. He is the son of country
music pioneer Hank Williams. Hank Williams, Jr. w as born one month before his legendary father made his landmark first appearance on the Grand Ole Opry. His
father nicknamed him “Bocephus” after the ventriloquist dummy used by country comedian Rod Brasfield. He was only three when his father died in 1952. On  
November 11, 2008, Williams was honored as a BMI (Broadcast Music Inc.) Icon
at the 56th annual BMI Country Awards.
