First-Ballpoint-Pen 
The Reynolds Rocket ballpoint pen

Businessman, Milton Reynolds formed the Reynolds International Pen
Company, producing the first ballpoint pens and beating Eversharp to
market. It went on sale at Gimbles department store in New York City
on 29 October 1945 for $9.75 each. This pen was widely known as the
Reynolds Rocket
into the late 1950s.

  1. remember seeing a “rocket” in a little variety store window in Northeast Phila. ON A “V” metal launching stand

    That picture isn’t of a Reynolds Rocket. It looks like something by Fisher Pen Co. and is much newer than a Reynolds pen.
