The Edsel Show was a hour-long special broadcast live on the CBS network
on Sunday October 13, 1957. It was a promotion for Ford Motor Company’s
new car the Edsel. The special replaced The Ed Sullivan show for that one
evening only. Featured stars included Bing Crosby and Frank sinatra and
the appearance by a “mystery guest”…Bob Hope. The Edsel Show has
been credited as Bing Crosby’s real television breakthrough with many
future TV specials.
