Sesame Street is a television series created for children by Joan Ganz Cooney and
Lloyd Morrisett. It’s known for its combination of Jim Henson’s Muppets, animation,
short films, humor, and cultural features. The series premiered Monday November
10, 1969 on  Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) stations to positive reviews and
high ratings.
