The Rise of the Goldbergs began on the NBC radio network as a weekly
15-minute comedy-drama on Wednesday November 20, 1929, going daily
in 1931. The series moved to CBS radio in 1936 with the title shortened to
The Goldbergs and ran until 1946. The program was devised by writer-
actress Gertrude Berg.
