House Party with host Art Linkletter (shown above) was a daytime radio variety 
talk show that premiered on Monday, January 15, 1945 on CBS and ran until 
October 13, 1967. The show was sponsored by General Electric. 

Lloyd Bridges in Sea Hunt

Lloyd Vernet Bridges, Jr. (January 15, 1913 – March 10, 1998)

Lloyd Bridges starred in a number of television series and appeared in
more than 150 feature films. He is best known for his role of Mike Nelson
in Sea Hunt, the most-popular syndicated TV series in 1958. It ran until
1961. Lloyd Bridges is the father of actors Beau Bridges and Jeff Bridges.

Martin Luther King, Jr. (January 15, 1929 – April 4, 1968) 

Dr. King was a clergyman, activist, and prominent leader in the African-American
Civil Rights Movement. He was assassinated on Thursday, April 4, 1968 in Memphis,
Tennessee. On November 2, 1983, President Ronald Reagan signed a bill creating
a federal holiday to honor King. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day was observed for the
time on Monday, January 20, 1986. On January 17, 2000, the federal holiday
was officially observed in all fifty states for the first time.   

Margaret O’Brien is a film and stage actress. Though her film career as a
lead character was a brief one, O’Brien was one of the most popular child
actors in film history. Her most memorable role was as "Tootie" in Meet Me
in St. Louis (1944), opposite Judy Garland (below). In her later years, she
appeared on stage and in various supporting roles in films.

Harry S. Truman was the first president to use the media of radio and
television to announce that he was leaving office and returning to his
home in Independence, Missouri.
