NUMBER-ONE ON THIS DAY IN 1973
"Half-Breed" topped the Billboard Hot 100 for two weeks, becoming Cher’s second #1 solo hit and second Gold single.
HIT RECORD RELEASED ON THIS DAY IN 1969
"Something" by The Beatles was the first song written by lead guitarist
George Harrison to top the US charts while he was in the band. It was
also one of the first to contain tracks already available on a album. They
are both featured on the groups 1969 album Abby Road.
