Elvis Presley made the first of two appearances on The Milton Berle Show,
live from the flight deck of the USS Hancock,San Diego, California. He made
$5,000 for performing "Heartbreak Hotel", "Money, Honey" and "Blue Suede
Shoes".

The first issue of TV Guide (April 1953) featured
Desi Arnaz, Jr. on the cover. The publication is
still the largest circulating weekly in the U.S.

                   Buddy Ebsen (born Christian Rudolph Ebsen, Jr.) 

                                        (April 2, 1908 – July 6, 2003)
                      

Buddy Ebsen was a performer for seven decades and had starring roles such as
Jed Clampett in the long-running CBS television series The Beverly Hillbillies from
1962 to 1971 and as the title character in the CBS detective series Barnaby Jones
from 1973 to 1980. He also played Fess Parker’s sidekick in Walt Disney’s Davy
Crockett miniseries on NBC from 1954 to 1955.
