Imogene Fernandez de Coca
(November 18, 1908 – June 2, 2001)
Imogene Coca was a comic actress best known for her role
opposite Sid Caesar on Your Show of Shows, a live 90-minute
variety show that appeared Saturdays (9-10:30 p.m. ET) on
NBC from February 25, 1950, until June 5, 1954. Coca took
Lessons in piano, dance, and voice as a child and while still a
teenager moved from Philadelphia to New York City to become
a dancer. She got her first job in the chorus of the Broadway
musical When You Smile
SOUL SINGER IS DEAD AT 65
Major Harris III (February 9, 1947 – November 9, 2012)
Major Harris III, a member of the popular late 1960s and early 1970s
"Philadelphia Sound" soul group, "The Delfonics" passed away Friday,
November 9th from congestive heart and lung failure. Harris also sang
with “The Charmers”, and “The Teenagers”, Frankie Lymon’s backing
group. He also had a successful solo career which produced the single
”Love Won’t Let Me Wait” that peaked at number five on Billboard’s Hot
