HIT SINGLE RECORDED ON THIS DAY IN 1957
"That’ll Be the Day" is a song written by Buddy Holly and Jerry Allison and
became a number-one hit on the 1957 "Best Sellers in Stores" chart in
Billboard magazine. The song also went to number two on Billboard’s
R&B singles chart.

Your Show of Shows was a live 90-minute variety show broadcast on NBC,
Saturdays, 9:00-10:30 p.m. ET/6:00-7:30 p.m. PT from February 25, 1950,
until June 5, 1954, starring Sid Caesar and Imogene Coca. Other featured performers were Carl Reiner, Howard Morris, Bill Hayes. During 2002,
Your Show of Shows was ranked #30 on TV Guide’s 50 Greatest TV
Shows of All Time.
