AL JARDINE IS 71 TODAY
Jardine is a guitarist/singer and founding member of The Beach
Boys. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a
member of the group in 1988. He met future band member Brian
Wilson while studying at El Camino College in California.

RELEASED ON THIS DAY IN 1965
Although credited to "Lennon–McCartney", the song “Yesterday”
was written solely by Paul McCartney who is performing solo.
More than 2,500 cover versions of the song exist, making it one
of the most recorded songs in history.
