CONTRACT SIGNED ON THIS DAY IN 1962
Brian Epstein signed his management contract with The Beatles on Monday, October
1, 1962. John Lennon and Ringo Starr signed for themselves and Harold Harrison
and James McCartney signed on behalf of their underage sons. The agreement
gave Epstein a 25% cut of the group’s earnings, provided that they made more
than $400 each per week. Epstein’s copy of the contract was sold at an auction
in 2008.
STELLA STEVENS IS 77 TODAY
Stella Stevens (Estelle Caro Eggleston) began her acting career in
1959 and starred in such popular films as The Nutty Professor (1963),
The Courtship of Eddie’s Father (1963), and The Poseidon Adventure
(1972). She also appeared in numerous TV series, miniseries
and movies, including Bonanza (1960), and The Love Boat (1977).
