Actor Gandolfini was best known for his role as Tony Soprano in The Sopranos
on HBO. He reportedly died in Italy of an apparent heart attack.

Whitman, a country music singer/songwriter and instrumentalist,
known for his yodeling and smooth high octave falsetto, died of
heart failure at Orange Park Medical Center in Florida. He had
recorded more than 65 albums and sold in excess of 120 million

First Garfield strip

Garfield is a comic strip created by Jim Davis. Published since June 19, 1978. It
chronicles the life of the title character, the cat Garfield who named after Davis’s 
grandfather, his owner, Jon Arbuckle; and Jon’s dog, Odie. As of 2013, it was 
syndicated in roughly 2,580 newspapers and journals, and held the Guinness
World Record for being the world’s most widely syndicated comic strip.
