MANUAL PUBLISHED ON THIS DAY IN 1946
Dr. Benjamin Spock’s book The Common Sense Book of Baby and Child Care
became a bestseller, selling more than 50 million copies by 1998. It has been
translated into 39 languages. Spock later wrote three more books on the
subject of parenting.

NUMBER-ONE SINGLE ON THIS DAY IN 1962
Bobby Vinton’s "Roses Are Red (My Love)" topped the Billboard Hot 100 singles
chart for four weeks. It was his first hit and was also the first number-one hit for
Epic Records.
