SINGER MIKE LOVE IS 74 TODAY
Love helped found the band The Pendeltons, which went on to become
the iconic surfer rock band The Beach Boys. The group is known for
such hit songs as "Surfin’ U.S.A." (1963) and "Good Vibrations” (1966).

SONG RECORDED ON THIS DAY IN 1966
Sandra Lou Posey will be 71 in June.
Posey had her first hit with "Born a Woman", which was recorded in
Nashville. It reached number 12 on the Billboard sales charts in
August 1966. It sold over one million copies, and was awarded a
gold disc.
