BORN ON THIS DAY IN 1774


Meriwether Lewis (August 18, 1774 – October 11, 1809)

Lewis explored and mapped the American Northwest with his
partner William Clark. He was appointed to be President
Thomas Jefferson‘s aide in 1801 and provided him with
information regarding army politics. In addition to helping
to map the U.S., he served as governor of Louisiana.

STARR DEBUTED ON THIS DAY IN 1962

Ringo Starr made his debut with The Beatles at the horticultural society Dance, Birkenhead, England, having had a two-hour rehearsal in preparation.

This was the first appearance of The Beatles as the world would come to know
them: John, Paul, George, and Ringo.


Ringo Starr (Richard Starkey) turned 76 July 7.

Charles Robert Redford Jr. is 80 years old today.

Redford was asked to leave the University of Colorado, after
which he studied painting at the Pratt Institute and acting at
the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. He kick started his
acting career with guest starring roles on such TV shows as
Perry Mason (CBS), The Untouchables (ABC) and Alfred
Hitchcock
Presents (NBC/CBS). He was also featured in a
episode of Rod Serling’s Twilight Zone.
