NUMBER-ONE ON THIS DAY IN 1964

Dozier
–Holland, "Where Did Our Love Go" was the first single by
the Supremes to go to the number-one position on the Billboard
Hot 100
pop singles chart, a position it held for two weeks until
August 29, 1964. It was also the first of five Supremes songs in
a row to reach number one.

Cynthia Jane "Cindy" Williams was born in Van
Nuys, Los Angeles,California.

Cindy Williams starred as Shirley Feeney on the ABC-TV
series Laverne and Shirley from 1976 to 1983. She also
portrayed Laurie Henderson in the hit 1973 coming of age
film American Graffiti. She debuted as an actress through
a variety of commercials for Foster Grant sunglasses and 
and made her big screen debut in the 1970 Roger Corman
movie Gas-s-s-s. Williams co-produced the 1990s Steve
Martin
comedies Father of the Bride and Father of the
Bride Part II.
