BIG FIND UNDER THE STATUE OF GEN. LEE

Richmond's Lee statue is set to come down. It's a new chance for the city. - Vox

(AP) – Crews working to remove the pedestal where a statue of
Gen. Lee towered over Richmond for more than a century believe
they’ve found a time capsule that was buried there in 1887.

The massive bronze equestrian statue of Lee, erected in 1890, was
taken down in September, more than a year after Governor Ralph
Northam ordered its removal after protests over racism and police
brutality erupted across the country following the police killing of

George Floyd in Minneapolis.

Near Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, Orville and Wilbur Wright made the
first successful flight in history of a self-propelled, heavier-than-air aircraft on December 17, 1903. Orville piloted the gasoline-powered, propeller-driven biplane, which stayed aloft for 12 seconds and
covered 120 feet on its inaugural flight.
