MOBILE PHONE SHAPED OUR INTERACTION


In 1959, the mobile telephone was a revolutionary invention
that changed how people communicated.

The original model weighed over 30 pounds and featured a large
antenna on top, making it look like something out of a science
fiction movie.

On July 14, 1913, Gerald R. Ford was born Leslie Lynch King, Jr.
in Omaha,
Nebraska. His biological father left the family when
Ford was three years old. His mother’s second husband, Gerald
Ford, adopted the young boy and gave him his name.

The young Ford went on to become the first vice president to
assume office after a president resigned, after President
Richard M. Nixon (below) stepped down in 1974.

On July 13, 1990, the romantic-thriller Ghost, starring
Demi Moore, Patrick Swayze and Whoopi Goldberg,
opened in theaters across the United States.

The film was a commercial success, grossing $505 million
against a budget of $22–23 million and emerging as the
highest-grossing film of 1990 and at the time of its release,
was the
third-highest-grossing film of all time.

The film received positive reviews from critics, with praise
going towards the score and performances of the cast.
Ghost earned five nominations at the
63rd Academy
Awards
: Best Picture, Best Original Score, Best Film
Editing
, and winning Best Supporting Actress for Goldberg
and
Best Original Screenplay by Bruce Joel Rubin.
