“Poppin’ Fresh”, the Pillsbury Doughboy, is an advertising icon and mascot of
The Pillsbury Company, appearing in many of their commercials since his debut
on November 7, 1965. The Doughboy, a $16 doll made of clay, was originally
brought to live using the stop motion animation technique. Today, CGI is used
in the commercials. Character/Voice actor Paul Frees (below) was the first voice
of the Doughboy.

After Walt Disney produced his short film "Alice’s Wonderland" in Kansas City, he
entered into an agreement with New York Distributor, M.J. Winkler to release a
series of "Alice Comedies" based on the films title character. That agreement on
October 16, 1923 became the official founding date of the Walt Disney Company,
known then as the “Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio”, with brothers Walt and Roy
Disney, as equal partners. Today, Walt Disney Motion Pictures Group is one of
the largest and best-known studios in Hollywood.
