Kyle Thomas Busch is a NASCAR driver and team owner. He currently drives the No.
18 Toyota Camry for Joe Gibbs racing in the Sprint Cup Series (shown below), and theÂ
the No.18 Toyota in the Nationwide Series. He also drives the No. 18 Toyota Tundra for his own team, Kyle Bush Motorsports, in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. Kyle currently holds the record for most NASCAR wins in a season between the top three NASCAR series with 21, which he accomplished in 2008. He is also the only NASCAR driver to win races in two of its national touring series on the same day, winning the Truck Series and Nationwide Series races held on February 21, 2009. Kyle is the younger brother of driver Kurt Bush.

‘’THE INTIMIDATOR’’ WAS BORN ON THIS DATE IN 1951
Dale Earnhardt, Sr. (April 29, 1951 – February 18, 2001). The stock car
racing legend died in a final-lap crash during the 2001 Daytona 500. He hasÂ
been inducted in numerous halls of fame, including the inaugural class of the
NASCAR Hall of Fame.Â
RACING LEGEND CALE YARBOROUGH IS 72 TODAY
William Caleb "Cale" Yarborough is a farmer, businessman and former NASCAR Winston Cup Series driver and owner. He is one of only two drivers in NASCAR history
to win three consecutive championships. He was the first NASCAR driver to appear on
the cover of Sports Illustrated (shown below). His 83 wins places him at number five tied
with Jeff Gordon in the all-time NASCAR winner’s list (behind Bobby Allison and Darrell Waltrip, who are tied for third with 84). Yarborough won the Daytona 500 four times, his first win coming in 1968, followed by 1977, 1983, and 1984. In 1984 Cale became the
first driver to qualify for the Daytona 500 with a top speed of more than 200 mph. He is
a three time winner of the National Motorsports Press Association Driver of the Year Award. Yarborough was inducted into the International Motorsports Hall of Fame in
1993, the National Motorsports Press Association Hall of Fame and the Motorsports
Hall of Fame of America in 1994, the Court of Legends at Charlotte Motor Speedway
in 1996 and was named one of NASCAR’s 50 Greatest Drivers in 1998.

RACE CAR DRIVER DANICA PATRICK IS 29 TODAY
Danica Sue Patrick is a race car driver, currently competing in the Indy Car series and
the NASCAR Nationwide series, as well as a model and advertising spokeswoman. She was named the Rookie of the Year for both the 2005 Indianapolis and the 2005 Indy Car season. With her win in the 2008 Indy Japan 300, Patrick became the first woman to win an Indy Car race. Patrick currently drives the #7 GoDaddy.com Honda/Dallara for the Andretti Auto Sport team. In 2010, Patrick began racing in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, driving the #7( below) GoDaddy.com for JR Motorsports part-time.
Danica placed 3rd in the 2009 Indianapolis 500, which was both a personal best for
her at the track and the highest finish by a woman in the event’s history. In 2011 in
the NASCAR Nationwide Series Patrick became the first woman to lead a lap at
Daytona International Speedway. She had her best career finish of 4th in the
NASCAR Nationwide Series on March 5th, 2011 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway,
by doing this, she set a record for the best finish by a woman in a NASCAR top
circuit race
RACING LEGEND MARIO ANDRETTI IS 71 TODAY
Mario Gabriele Andretti is a retired world champion race car driver, one of
the most successful in the history of the sport. He is one of only two drivers
to win races in Formula One, Indy Car, World Sports car Championship and
NASCAR (the other being Dan Gurney). He also won races in midget cars,
sprint cars, and drag racing. Andretti had 109 career wins on major circuits
and was the only person to be named U.S. Driver of the Year in three decades
(1967, 1978, and 1984). He was inducted into the International Motorsports
Hall of Fame in 2001, the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame in 1996, in 2001 the
International Motorsports Hall of Fame, the U.S.National Sprint Car Hall of Fame
in 1996, the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America in 1990, and the Hoosier Auto
Racing Hall of Fame in 1970.
