William Henry "Bill" Cosby, Jr. is a comedian, actor, author, television producer, 
educator, musician and activist. He is a veteran stand-up performer, he got his
start at various clubs, then landed a starring role in the NBC 1960s action show,
I Spy. He later starred in his own series on NBC, the situation comedy The Bill
Cosby Show (1984-1992). He was one of the major characters on the PBS
children’s television series The Electric Company for its first two seasons,
and created the educational cartoon comedy series Fat Albert and the
Cosby Kids on CBS (1972 –1984). Cosby has also acted in a number of
films. In 1976, Bill Cosby earned a Doctor of Education degree from the
University of Massachusetts Amherst.

     Ernest Borgnine (Ermes Effron Borgnino) (January 24, 1917 – July 8, 2012)

LOS ANGELES (AP) – Ernest Borgnine, the beefy screen star known for blustery,
often villainous roles, but who won the best-actor Oscar for playing against type
as a lovesick butcher in "Marty" in 1955, died Sunday. He was 95.

His longtime spokesman, Harry Flynn, told The Associated Press that Borgnine
died of renal failure at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center with his wife and children at
his side.

Borgnine, who endeared himself to a generation of Baby Boomers with the 1960s
TV comedy "McHale’s Navy," first attracted notice in the early 1950s in villain roles, notably as the vicious Fatso Judson, who beat Frank Sinatra to death in "From Here
to Eternity."

The career of Eva Marie Saint spans seven decades, starring in films,
on Broadway, and television. She won an Academy Award for Best 
Supporting Actress for her performance in the film On the Waterfront 
(1954), and later starred in the Alfred Hitchcock thriller North by
Northwest (1959). Saint received Golden Globe and BAFTA award
nominations for the drama film A Hatful of Rain (1957) and won an
Emmy Award for the television miniseries People Like Us (1990). Her
film career also includes roles in Exodus (1960), and Superman
Returns (2006).

Jackie Robinson

Jackie Robinson was the first African-American to play major league
baseball. He made his major league debut at Ebbets Field in 1947 as
a Brooklyn Dodger. In 1955, he helped the Dodgers win the World
Series.Robinson retired in 1957, with a career batting average of
311. He was the first African-American to be inducted into the
Baseball Hall of Fame on July 3, 1962. The Dodgers retired his
uniform number #42 in 1972.

Richard Lee Petty is a former NASCAR driver who raced in the Strictly Stock-
Grand National Era and the NASCAR Winston Cup Series. "The King", as he
is nicknamed, is most well known for winning the NASCAR Championship seven
times. Petty is a member of the inaugural class of the NASCAR Hall of Fame. He
was inducted into the Hall in 2010.
