Troyal Garth Brooks is a country singer/songwriter. He’s
64 years old today.
Brooks is the only artist in music history to have released
nine albums that were certified Diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America, surpassing The Beatles.

During his WHO radio career, Reagan “announced” Chicago Cubs baseball games in the Des Moines studio by reading a pitch-by-pitch account off the wire as if he were actually at
the game. He was so skillful that some listeners believed he actually was at the game!
As the 40th president of the United States, the former movie star,
Ronald Reagan was called the “Great Communicator” for his
ability to get through to ordinary Americans and give them hope
and optimism for their own future and that of their country.
Despite his lifelong opposition to “big” government, Reagan
was credited with restoring faith in the U.S. government and
the presidency after a long era of disillusionment in the wake
of Nixon, Vietnam and economic hardship under Carter.
Before his years of Hollywood stardom, and long before
Washington, Ronald Reagan was born in a small town in
northwestern Illinois.
Reagan made the sobering announcement that he had
Alzheimer’s disease, which would end his public career.
He died on June 5, 2004, at the age of 93.

Babe Ruth was a professional baseball player whose career
in Major League Baseball spanned 22 seasons, from 1914
through 1935. Nicknamed "the Bambino" and "the Sultan
of Swat.

Henry Louis Aaron (February 5, 1934 – January 22, 2021)
Nicknamed "Hammer" or "Hammerin’ Hank", was a professional
baseball right fielder who played 23 seasons in Major League
Baseball from 1954 through 1976.
Considered one of the greatest baseball players in history, he
spent 21 seasons with the Milwaukee /Atlanta Braves in the
National League and two seasons with he Milwaukee Brewers
in the American League.
At the time of his retirement, Aaron held most of the game’s key
career power-hitting records. He broke the long-standing MLB
record for career home runs held by Babe Ruth and remained
the career leader for 33 years, until Barry Bonds surpassed his
famous total of 755 in 2007.

Eugene Curran Kelly (August 23, 1912 – February 2, 1996)
Gene Kelly starred in, choreographed, and, with Stanley Donen,
co-directed some of the most well-regarded musical films of the
1940s and 1950s.
Kelly’s health declined steadily in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
In July 1994, he suffered a stroke and stayed in Ronald Reagan
UCLA Medical Center hospital for seven weeks. In early 1995, he
had another stroke which made him severely disabled. Kelly died
on February 2, 1996.
