LOS ANGELES (AP) — Mickey Mouse cartoons are coming back to TV as Disney attempts to revive one of the world’s most popular characters.

The 19 episodes, hand-drawn and in 2-D, will debut June 28 on the Disney Channel, Disney.com and the Watch Disney Channel app.

In a preview on Disney.com, Mickey and Minnie are working at a Paris cafe when
they face a shortage of croissants. In the 3-minute, 30-second cartoon, Mickey
goes on an adventurous trip through the city to fulfill their orders.

Walt Disney Co.’s CEO Bob Iger told CNBC on Tuesday that the shorts harken
back to the days of founder Walt Disney, highlighting Mickey’s "impish" and
"innocent" qualities.
