TV CHARACTER ACTOR HAS PASSED AT 89

(1933 – 2022)

(Fox News) – According to a Los Angeles Times
obituary, Richard Roat, who acted on iconic shows
such as "Friends," "The Golden Girls," and "Seinfeld," 
died suddenly on Aug. 5 in Orange County, Calif. No
other details about his death were disclosed.

With over 135 acting roles to his name, Roat portrayed
numerous characters on television, movies and even
Broadway.

He once played the late Betty White‘s boyfriend on her
sitcom "The Golden Girls" and appeared alongside
Jay
Leno
(below) in the 1978 made-for-TV movie "Almost
Heaven."

L. Q. Jones (born Justus Ellis McQueen Jr.)
(August 19, 1927 – July 9, 2022)

L.Q. Jones, the colorful character actor who worked on
dozens of Westerns, including the Sam Peckinpah classics 
The Wild Bunch and Ride the High Country as a member of
the famed filmmaker’s regular posse, has died.

Jones died Saturday of natural causes at his home in the
Hollywood Hills.

Blade Runner (1982).

Joe Turkel (Born July 15, 1927 in Brooklyn, New York)
(Died – June 27, 2022 in
Santa Monica, California
)

Turkel got started on his film career in the late 1940s,
appearing in film noirs including City Across the River 
(1949), The Glass Wall (1953), Duffy of San Quentin (1954), 
The Human Jungle
among others. 

On television, he could be seen on Boston Blackie, Public
Defender, The Lone Ranger, The Lineup, Bonanza, The
Untouchables, Tales
From the Darkside and Miami Vice. 


His final film appearance came in 1990 in The Dark Side of
the Moon
, and he reprised his role of Tyrell, in voice only,
for a 1997 Blade Runner video game.

LEGENDARY CHARACTER ACTOR HAS DIED

Philip Baker Hall (September 10, 1931 – June 12, 2022)

Philip Baker Hall, one of Hollywood’s most recognizable
character actors, has died at the age of 90. He was best
known today for his roles on “Seinfeld” and in the films
of Paul Thomas Anderson. The news was first announced
by Hall’s neighbor and friend, Los Angeles sports writer
Sam Farmer, on Twitter. Hall died from emphysema at his
home in Glendale, California.

CHARACTER ACTOR HAS DIED AT 80

Michael John Pollard (Michael John Pollack Jr.)
(May 30, 1939 – November 21, 2019)

(Variety) – Academy Award nominee Michael J. Pollard, known
for his roles in
Bonnie and Clyde and “House of 1000 Corpses,”
has died from cardiac arrest .

“House of 1000 Corpses” director Rob Zombie broke the news on
Facebook
early Friday morning. More recently, Pollard starred in
Zombie’s 2003 cult film “House of 1000 Corpses.” His last role was
“The Woods” in 2012.
