TV AND STAGE ACTRESS HAS DIED AT 70

Georgia Bright Engel (July 28, 1948 – April 12, 2019)

LOS ANGELES (AP) – Georgia Engel, who played the charmingly
innocent, small-voiced Georgette on "
The Mary Tyler Moore Show"
and amassed a string of other TV and stage credits, has died.

According to her friend and executor,John Quilty, Engel died Friday
in Princeton,
New Jersey. The cause of death was unknown because
she was a Christian Scientist and didn’t consult doctors due to her
beliefs.

On this day in 1994, white separatist Byron De La Beckwith (left) was convicted
in Jackson, MS, of the 1963 murder of civil rights leader Medgar Evers (right).

De La Beckwith was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison. He
died while incarcerated seven years later at age 80.
 He had suffered from
heart disease, high blood pressure, and other ailments for some time.

Stewart Robert "Bob" Einstein (November 20, 1942 – January 2, 2019)

(Variety) – Bob Einstein, an offbeat comedian and writer whose career 
stretched from “The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour” to “Curb Your
Enthusiasm,” has died.

Einstein died Wednesday in Indian Wells, Calif. He had been recently diagnosed with cancer.
