Jean Stapleton (born Jeanne Murray) is a character actress of stage, television, and film. Stapleton is best known for her portrayal of Edith Bunker , the long-suffering, yet devoted wife of Archie Bunker, played by Carroll O’Connor (above) and mother of Gloria Bunker Stivic, played by Sally Struthers, in the 1970’s sitcom All In the Family on CBS-TV. Stapleton was also seen as Edith Bunker in the All in the Family follow-up series
Archie Bunker’s Place. She left that show after one season.

Actor and musician, Desi Arnaz, Jr. is the son of entertainers
lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. His birth was one of the most
publicized in television history. Ball’s pregnancy was part
the storyline of the TV sitcom I Love Lucy. The same day
Lucy gave birth to Desi Jr.,the fictional Lucy Recardo gave
birth to “Little Ricky”. The child was shown on the cover
of the first TV Guide, shown above.

Danny Kaye (David Daniel Kaminsky) actor, dancer, and one of the
world’s best-known comedians. He died on March 3, 1987 at age 74.

Danny Kaye’s grave marker is a bench at Kensico Cementery in
Valhalla, New York.

Jim Carrey began his career in stand-up comedy in 1979. After
meeting Damon Wayans he landed a role on the sketch comedy
In Living Color. The series ran on the Fox Network from 1990 to1994.

The Goldbergs was originally a radio show on NBC from 1929 to
1946. The program made the switch to television as the first
sitcom. Both the radio and TV shows were devised by writer-
actress Gertrude Berg who played Molly Goldberg. The series 
ran on CBS-TV until 1951.
