Easy Aces
was one of radio’s most respected comedies that had a fifteen-year run  
from 1930 to 1945. It first aired for 15-minutes on KMBC in Kansas City,Missouri and went  become a 30-minute network show on CBS radio in March 1932. The show
starred creator and writer, Goodman Ace and his wife Jane.

ACTOR ROBERT HEGYES IS DEAD AT 60

(Fox) METUCHEN, N.J. – "Welcome Back Kotter" actor Robert Hegyes died
Thursday in New Jersey, from a suspected heart attack.

Hegyes was a star of the 1970s comedy — with his character Juan Epstein
famous for producing faked absence letters from "Epstein’s Mother" and
"Epstein’s Mother’s Doctor" — and was also one of its directors.

The Star-Ledger reported the 60-year-old died at JFK Medical Center in
Edison, N.J., after suffering chest pains at his Metuchen home Thursday
morning,

His brother Mark Hegyes told The Star-Ledger that the actor had suffered
a heart attack a couple of years ago and had not been in full health.

JACK GOT MARRIED ON THIS DAY IN 1927

Jack Benny married Sadie Marks (above) on January 25, 1927. The couple met
while she was said to be working as a lingerie salesgirl at a May Department Store
in Los Angeles. Sadie changed her name to Mary Livingstone, a scripted character 
in one of Jack’s vaudeville shows.

(January 18, 1892 – August 7, 1957)

Hardy was a comedic actor famous as one half of Laurel and
Hardy, the classic comedy duo that began in the silent films
era and lasted nearly 30 years, from 1927 to 1955.

This is a U.S. Department of Agriculture film featuring Laurel & Hardy
in their only Technicolor theatrical short. It was considered lost until
1967. It is thought to have been shot around 1943.
