Pi Day is an annual celebration of the mathematical constant
π (pi). Pi Day is observed on March 14 (the 3rd month) since
3, 1, and 4 are the first three significant figures of π, and it
was first celebrated in the United States. It was founded in
1988 by Larry Shaw a physicist at the San Francisco science
museum, the Exploratorium. Celebrations often involve eating
pie or holding pi recitation competitions. In 2009, the United
States House of Representatives supported the designation
of Pi Day.

Michael Caine has appeared in more than 160 films over 
a career spanning eight decades and is considered a
British film icon. 

He has received many awards including two Academy
Awards, a BAFTA Award, three Golden Globe Awards,
and a Screen Actors Guild Award.

As of 2017, the films in which Caine has appeared have

On March 13, 1942, the Quartermaster Corps (QMC) of the United
States Army began training dogs for the newly established War
Dog Program, or “K-9 Corps.”

Well over a million dogs served on both sides during World War
I, carrying messages along the complex network of trenches and providing some measure of psychological comfort to the soldiers.

On March 11, 1989, "Cops," a documentary-style television
series that follows police officers and sheriff’s deputies as
they go about their jobs, debuts on Fox. "Cops" went on to
become one of the longest-running shows in television
history. It went off the air in 2020.

The show, which was created by John Langley and Malcolm
Barbour, was a pioneer in reality television.

When the cameras of “COPS” were in Portland, Oregon.

"Oppenheimer" led the night with the most nominations,
netting 13 at the beginning of the night. The film took
home seven awards.
