William Bennett Kilpack (February 6, 1883 – August 17, 1962)

Mr. Keen, Tracer of Lost Persons was one of radio’s longest running shows,
airing October 12, 1937 to April 19, 1955, continuing well into the television
era. It was produced by Frank and Anne Hummert, who based it upon Robert
W.
Chambers
1906 novel The Tracer of Lost Persons. The sponsors included
Whitehall Pharmacal (makers of Anacin), Dentyne, Aerowax, RCA Victor and
Chesterfield cigarettes. It aired on the NBC Blue network until 1947, when it
switched to
CBS.

Bennett Kilpack (above) began as Mr. Keen in 1937 with Arthur Hughes and
then Phil Clarke stepping into the role later in the series.

RADIO SERIES BEGAN ON THIS DAY IN 1943

Land of the Lost
was a radio fantasy adventure, written and narrated by Isabel
Manning Hewson. It was broadcast Saturday mornings at 11:30 am on the ABC
Blue network until September 22, 1945. In 1944, it also was on ABC Tuesdays
at 7:00pm from July 4 until October 3. On October 14, 1945, the series moved
to Mutual, where it was heard until July 6, 1946 (Sundays at 3:30 until mid-
January and then Saturdays at 11:30am). Sponsored by Bosco, Land of the
Lost
aired on ABC from October 11, 1947 until the end of the run on July 3,
1948.

their third album release in 1963. It reached number four during a 46-
week chart stay, and was eventually certified platinum by the RIAA. It

June Allyson
(born Eleanor Geisman in The Bronx, New York)
(October 7, 1917 – July 8, 2006)



June Allyson was a stage, film, and television actress, dancer,
and singer. She began her career as a dancer on Broadway
in 1938 and signed with MGM in 1943. She rose to fame the
following year in Two Girls and a Sailor
