The Waltons
is a CBS television series created by Earl Hamner, Jr., based
on his book Spencer’s Mountain, and a 1963 film of the same name. The
series originally aired for a total of nine seasons. After the series was
canceled by CBS in 1981, NBC aired three television movie sequels in
1982, with three more in the 1990s on CBS.

Elvis Presley : First Appearance : The Ed Sullivan Show : September 9, 1956.

On Elvis’ first appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show, he was introduced
by Cleveland disc jockey Bill Randle, who was reportedly the first radio
personality to play an Elvis record outside the South.

was Cooke’s debut single and was a huge success, becoming a number- 
one hit on both Billboard‘s Rhythm & Blues Records chart and the Billboard
Hot 100
. The song was named as one of the 500 most important rock and
roll
recordings by the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame
. In April 2010, the song
ranked #115 in Rolling Stone magazine’s The 500 Greatest Songs of All
