self-published by H.H. Windsor of the Popular Mechanics Company, it

a subsidiary of the Hearst Corporation in 1958. There are nine
international editions.

Clara Peller (August 4, 1902 – August 11, 1987), was a retired manicurist
and
character actress

Clara was first seen by TV viewers in the "Where’s the Beef?" commercial campaign
for Wendy’s chain of hamburger restaurants. In 2011, Wendy’s revived the phrase
for its new ad campaign, finally answering its own question with "Here’s the beef”.
