RADIO SERIES DEBUTED ON THIS DAY IN 1938
Your Family and Mine was a radio drama series which aired on CBS in 1938-
1940. Promoted as "Radio’s Newest Dramatic Serial," it premiered Monday,
April 25, 1938. The program was initially broadcast daily at 6:15pm and was
sponsored by Sealtest.
The series was created by Lillian Laugerty, following her success with the
daytime drama series Big Sister, which had a long run from 1936 to 1952.

SHIRLEY TEMPLE TURNED 85 TODAY
Shirley Temple Black is a film and television actress, singer, dancer, and
former U.S. ambassador to Ghana and Czechoslovakia. She began her film
film career in 1932 at the age of three, and in 1934, found international fame
in Bright Eyes,
Shirley is No.18 on the American Film Institute‘s list of the greatest female
American screen legends of all time, making her the highest-ranked living
person on the list.
ROCK FILM RELEASED ON THIS DAY IN 1959
Go, Johnny Go! was filmed in five days at the Culver City, California studios
of Hal Roach Productions. It was the only film appearance of Richie Valens,
who died shortly after filming it in a plane crash, along with Buddy Holly and
The Big Bopper on February 3. The film was released later after Valens’
death.
